Financial Solutions by PHD Financial

PHD Financial

Paul Darrow founded PHD Financial LLC after many years as an independent consultant to business-owners, primarily in the hospitality industry. He saw the great need by franchise and independent hotel owners for financial consult and debt restructure, and chose to create a niche business that could both advise and consult on financial issues, and work as a liaison between hoteliers and their lenders to make finance, refinance, and debt restructure negotiations a more seamless- and effective- process.

Over the past two years Paul has grown PHD Financial to offer a more comprehensive list of services to include accounting and book-keeping, legal consult, and hotel management and operations. With the additions of a CPA, attorney and Certified Hotel Administrator in the firm, this makes PHD Financial the only of its kind with those positions in-house.

With over 25 years of extensive experience in crisis management consulting, restructuring existing debt, and generating new financing for commercial real estate, hotels, hospitality, food manufacturing and distribution companies, Paul’s understanding of hotel operations enables him to be highly successful in re-negotiating existing debt with banks, SBA, USDA and the FDIC. His services have proven to be invaluable to the hospitality community through his educational seminars in partnership with various trade associations.

Paul has specialized in the hospitality industry since 1983 when he purchased the Beach Plum Inn and Restaurant in Martha’s Vineyard, MA. In 1988, during his ownership, Paul earned an Executive Chef and Hospitality Management Degree from the Cordon Bleu Cookery School in London, England. He also acquired the Intimate Inn of Saint John in the USVI, which he owned and operated for 3 years.

Both properties became highly acclaimed and Food & Wine and Gourmet Magazines ranked the Beach Plum Inn one of the “Top Country Inns in America.” After selling his USVI property and his Martha’s Vineyard property in 1998, he retired temporarily to South Florida. After spending the past 9 years in Paradise Valley and Scottsdale, where he developed his firm, Paul, his wife Jody and their son Ari have recently moved back to West Palm Beach, Florida.
